Cathay Pacific Extends Middle East Passenger Flight Suspensions to January 2027

HONG KONG, September 28, 2026 — Cathay Pacific has extended the suspension of its passenger services to parts of the Middle East, cancelling flights to Dubai and Riyadh through January 31, 2027, citing the latest developments in the region.

The airline announced the extended cancellations in an update issued on September 28, saying it would continue to monitor the evolving situation before determining when passenger operations can safely resume.

The suspension affects travellers scheduled to fly between Hong Kong and the two Middle Eastern destinations during the affected period.

Cathay Pacific said passengers holding tickets for cancelled flights would be offered flexible options to minimise disruption to their travel plans. Eligible passengers can rebook their journeys, reroute their travel or request a full refund.

The extended suspension comes as airlines continue to adjust flight operations across the Middle East in response to the changing regional security environment. Disruptions to aviation routes in the region have also created challenges for passengers and airlines managing international connections.

Cathay Pacific said it would continue to closely assess developments in the Middle East and review its flight operations accordingly.

The airline has not provided a specific date for the restoration of passenger services to Dubai and Riyadh beyond the current suspension period.

Travellers affected by the cancellations are advised to check their booking status and contact Cathay Pacific or their travel agent to arrange rebooking, rerouting or refunds.
